Someone To Watch Over You Series

My most recent works has evolved from a collection of Mexican crucifixes collaged on hand made paper.  I have designed them into abstract images, and then layered with hand painted papers, paint, gauze, fibers, ribbons, flowers, crystals, beads, stones and exotic seashells to provoke awe inspiring imagery of earth pigments and organic textures.  This brings to mind something ancient and spiritual in an ever present landscape that dreams of Mexico and a sacred desert sanctuary……..

Angkor Wat Series
  
This vision was inspired by nature....sunrise... starts slowly as nature takes enormous proportion and significance so that space and time is irrevocably altered and at once becomes revealing....treasures from far corners of the universe become a metaphor to the human spirit.... volumptuous, luminous and humbling....between dawn and first light creating a certain longing to linger......and connect us to the world around us......Angkor Wat Series......applying palm tree gauze from coconut palms, berries from pigmy palms, local and exotice shells and clay to the canvas....to encorporate a certain texture with earthy organic qualities to evoke that emotion and imagery to the earth, strangler fig trees and creeping lichens that devour the crumbling ruins in a far off jungle...
